Former radio transmitter at Beromünster is now a site for measuring air quality

A new measurement station for air pollution monitoring has been opened today in Beromünster, Canton Lucerne, the first since 1990. The measurement station is located on the site of the former international radio transmitter and monitors air pollution in the rural area of the Swiss Plateau. Its opening signifies the completion of the national air pollution monitoring network (so called NABEL). Data from the station will also contribute to determining the effectiveness of abatement measures against air pollution.
