The 2016 summer school is wrapped around the topic “Towards more resilient oceans: Predicting and projecting future changes in the ocean and their impacts on human societies”. Participants will study the effects of natural and anthropogenic pressures on oceans and marine ecosystems. Modelling social-ecological systems will help to understand and project potential impacts for the future.

Students and early-career researchers (up to 10 years post PhD) in natural and social sciences are welcome to apply. Participants should have an interest in modelling and interpreting change in global oceans, as well as in topics like oceanography, biogeochemistry, fisheries, climate change and social and economic aspects of marine ecosystems.
