The Swiss Society for Molecular and Cellular Biosciences (SSMCB) is the result of a merger between the Schweizerische Gesellschaft für Biochemie (Société Suisse de Biochimie, Swiss Society for Biochemistry) and the Schweizerische Gesellschaft für Zellbiologie Molekularbiologie und Genetik (Société suisse de biologie cellulaire, biologie moléculaire et génétique, Swiss Society for Cell Biology, Molecular Biology and Genetics). This merger was performed based on the decisions taken at the General Assemblies during this year’s LS2 Meeting in Zürich on January 31st, 2013 when the members of both Societies approved the merger including the name of the new society and its bylaws.
